The Hand Dryers below are seen by us to be the ideal choice for any school, college or university. They each offer a robust set of features making them perfect for bathrooms with a high footfall which most educational establishments will benefit from greatly. The hand dryers that we stock are all ECO friendly, meaning the running costs are kept to a minimum thanks to a range of smart technology in each machine, such as ambient air sensors which adjust heat output according to air temperature. It is technology like this that keeps running costs as low as £10 per year in an average footfall bathroom.

We all know that hand hygiene is an important part of school life. Many of our articles show that hand dryers are significantly cheaper to run. They are easier to look after than the traditional paper towel, with less mess. Lower energy use makes them more environmentally friendly. So despite the initial outlay a hand dryer far more cost effective for a typical school.
In general, the greater the air speed of hand dryer, the faster it dries the persons hands. Some of the fastest hand dryers are a little expensive for the typical school budget. Look for dryers with a speed in excess of 60 meters per second (130 mph) within the budget.
Also faster drying times reduce the time the dryer is on which reduces energy but look out for other Eco features. Heat elements which switch off can save a lot of energy. Some dryers such as the Kangarillo Eco also detect the air temperature and only switch the heat on if the room is too cold.
There are a couple of things to think about. If the dryer is near a classroom then a quieter model may be required to prevent distractions for the class.
Also the younger the pupils the the quieter the hand dryer needs to be. If the school bathroom is used by under 7 years olds then a dryer under 70 decibels is probably best. Some of the latest hand dryers allow the motor to be turned down reducing the noise level if this proves to be necessary.
